About Thanks for Giving Run
This event has been conducted for four years and our 2008 was as usual a great success. The timing, Saturday after Thanksgiving is a great kick off of Holiday Season and by its nature a family oriented Run.
We have had many participants from far flung States and many foreign countries, visiting family in Tulsa. We are determined to make it more joyous for everyone, leaving with great Holiday Spirit.
Our focus, Thanks for Giving Run, is to make this annual event a major fundraiser for less fortunate amongst us with developmental mobility problems.
Benefiting the Achilles Track Club-Tulsa led by Rev. Bill Webb, is local chapter of an international non-profit organization dedicated in helping individuals of all ages with developmental mobility problems.
These problems range from inability to walk with or without prostheses, confinement to a wheelchair, or any other lack of mobility.
Achilles Track Club volunteers conduct class sessions and accompany the club members on various activities designed to instill a sense of self-reliance as well as provide relief for their family members. In many cases, the Club also provides funds to purchase prostheses, wheelchairs and many other devises needed.
In its four years of existence, the Run as provided over $10,000 in funds to benefit many individuals and families in Eastern Oklahoma, and your sponsorship of this event is greatly appreciated. As an event sponsor, there are many opportunities possible to showcase your business on our web site, printed materials and many other means that surround this event. All donations and sponsorship funds are tax deductible.
